Messin’ About In Canoes: An informal get together to paddle, share stories and just enjoy being on the water with other canoeists. Bring your own canoe, gear, etc..

NOTE THE NEW LOCATION: IPSWICH RIVER LAUNCH AT IPSWICH ROAD/WILLOWDALE PARK (Just west/upstream of Foote Brothers Canoe and Kayak)

START TIME: 6PM Launch - gives everyone a few more minutes to join us.

Lake Gardner Beach is still closed! The town is still working on the beach area, so once more we had to find an alternative launch.

We’ll put in at the canoe launch at the Ipswich River Canoe Launch (click here) on Ipswich Road at Willowdale Park, just upstream from Foote Brothers Canoe and Kayak. There is parking on both sides of Ipswich Road.

We’ll paddle upstream past Ashbury Street into the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary. There will be a couple of beaver dams to navigate over (bow and stern painters are a great help) and beaver sightings are not unusual. We’ll check to see if the magic eddy is operating as well.
