Announcement of the 39th Annual Wilderness and Canoeing Conference…
We’re posting this and similar conference/symposia/gathering info to try to spread the word on the variety of activities going on in the canoe-verse. There’s a lot of activity in different venues and just reading about them can be very informative and intriguing. Let us know if you know of an event you think should be posted here.
Text of Announcement Notice:
Good morning friends,
Quick note to let you know that next WCS in planned for 24th February 2024 at York University in Toronto - same location as the last in-person WCS in 2020.
We will not have the permit until some time in November, until then consider this date a tentative.
This will be in-person event, barring something unforeseen and outside our control. Due to the logistical challenges and cost, we will not be able to support a hybrid event. In other words, there will be no live broadcast of WCS at the internet. We're hoping to record all presentations, as we did in the past, and post them in the WCS Archives at the later date.
If our permit is not approved, the virtual WCS will take place on Wednesday, 21 February 2024 from 6pm-9pm ET via Zoom.
Registration, pending the approval of the permit, will commence in early December.
WE NEED YOUR HELP WITH ...
Volunteers - let us know if you can assist us with some tasks either prior to, during the event or both.
Photo & Video recordings - let us know if you're an experienced videographer & photographer in case you're planning to attend the event!
Ideas for presentations - last but not least, we're keen to hear about your ideas about possible presenters and topics!
