We-no-nah Canoe
At White Rose Canoe we have an excellent selection of USA made We-no-nah canoes that will be available for the 2023 paddling season - some of which are already in stock. We-no-nah canoes come from a small, innovative family owned company that has its sole workshop on the banks of the Mississippi River in southeast Minnesota. Founded by Mike Cichanowski, a lifetime paddler and canoe builder, We-no-nah builds some of the finest, lightest canoes on the market. Come to the shop to heft one for yourself.
Below are the models that will normally be in stock at White Rose Canoe for the 2023 paddling season. To see the full line or for more information, visit the Wenonah website: https://www.wenonah.com/Default.aspx

General Touring: Good for a wide range of paddlers and all round general touring
Heron: The Heron is a compact, maneuverable tandem canoe that answers all requests. It's the smallest tandem canoe in our General Touring family. Inexperienced paddlers like its stability, while adept paddlers appreciate its efficiency. Because of it's smaller size, the Heron is a practical boat for day trips on lake, while also performing well on smaller rivers and streams. Keep one at the cabin for the kids, or keep one for leisurely float trips down your favorite trout stream.

Performance Touring: Efficient, do-everything canoe for folks with paddling experience
Sport & Leisure: Rock solid, stable and great for kids/dogs - hunting, fishing, and at the lake.
Fisherman: This short, wide canoe is stable enough to "set the screws" to a 6 pound largemouth bass exploding on your top water frog or lay back and relax in as you watch a mid summer's night meteor shower. The slightly rockered bottom makes the Fisherman maneuverable, while the boat's shallow draft will get you into places other boats only desire to go. Keep it at camp or at the lake house. Kids and other light weight paddlers will feel secure in the Fisherman.

Kingfisher: If your sporting plans call for a lot of gear, tackle, decoys, and a dog, the Kingfisher is your canoe. It's a great boat for catching sharks and snook in the no motor zones of the everglades or just taking the kids fishing for blue gills at the lake. This recreational hull extremely stable and very comfortable for larger paddlers. You can easily get in and out with your waders on and there's no need to worry about stability when shooting out of this canoe. It's two feet longer than the Fisherman and has more capacity, but at 16 feet it's still easy to maneuver.

Basswood Solo: The ultimate backcountry fishing machine. The Basswood series offers massive stability and capacity and comes standard with Wenonah’s revolutionary VersiGunwale integrated gunwale track system. Offered exclusively in our proven ultralight aramid construction.
The Basswood Solo is a stable, lightweight tripping canoe that’s ready to outfit with your favorite fishing accessories. Standard VersiGunwales are compatible with a wide range of rod holders, fish finder mounts and kayak fishing accessories. The Basswood’s high volume and hull is comfortable for large loads and landing big fish solo.
More stable than the Wilderness and more maneuverable than longer solos like the Prism, the Basswood Solo is perfect for the serious wilderness angler and backcountry adventurer.
Backwater: The Backwater square stern canoe is for sportsmen with motorized intentions. The rigid aluminum and wood mounting bracket makes for quick and easy addition of a small motor.
Sized for two people and a load of gear, it works great for duck hunting shallow backwater marshes or float fishing rocky rivers. Super stable, the Backwater is a blast when coupled with the right sized motor. We recommend a small outboard in the 2-3hp range, or a trolling motor with at least 55lbs. of thrust to unlock this boats true potential. To off set the weight of the motor, place the battery or gas tank as far forward as possible.
Down River: For those planning on paddling smaller rivers and streams - highly maneuverable and deeper for dry rides
Prospector: The original Prospector was a river-running boat known as the work horse of the North. This proven down river hull is our version of the classic design, and the closest thing to the original that money can buy. It's a stable hull for rivers and streams - with ample rocker it's quick to turn. Because of the symmetrical shape of the hull, a solo paddler loaded with gear could make good progress by turning around in the bow seat and paddling it backward. Two lengths - 15 ft and 16 ft. The Prospector 15 is one-foot shorter and slightly wider than our Prospector 16. It has a steeply rockered hull for extreme maneuverability, extra depth for confidence, and plenty of stability.
