Messin’ About In Canoes: An informal get together to paddle, share stories and just enjoy being on the water with other canoeists. Bring your own canoe, gear, etc.
UPDATE 05/24 - NEW LAUNCH SPOT
The next Messin’ About will be June 1st and launch from the Peabody Street Landing, off Peabody Street in Middleton. The launch is maintained by the Middleton Stream Team (big thanks for all the work they do on the river!). There is a small amount of off-road parking at the launch and the street is not marked with no parking signs
We’ll paddle upriver from the Peabody Landing, past Rachel’s Rest (named after Rachel Carson, author of Silent Spring). We may or may not make it all the way to Mortalo Landing, where the Ipswich passes under RT 62 (Maple St). We’ll ride the river back down to the put in.
This is a really pretty paddle.
