We thought it might be fun to do a “paddle a different canoe” day at the shop. And this is the right time to try out some boats if you’re thinking about starting 2023 with a new canoe.
The idea is that everyone is invited to bring their own canoe, paddle and PFD as usual if they want, but for this event it’s not required. Folks can swap off so everyone tries something they haven’t paddled before and, to add to the fun, we’ll bring out our demo fleet (with the help of y’all) for folks to try as well.
We’ve got a mixed group of 4 solos and 15 tandems, including Wenonah, Nova Craft, Rheaume, and Esquif models, as well as two Chestnut wood and canvas canoes (a 15’ Chum and a 14’ Playmate) to try. It’s a great way to get a feel for different hulls and features as you’re dreaming of your next canoe.
We’re doing this demo late in the season because the canoe makers have opened their 2024 order books and we’re building our pre-season buy list. If you’d like to start 2024 with a new canoe with a specific set of features, this is a great time to let us know.
We’ll start at 11:00am at the waterfront at the shop. We will be asking everyone for help moving the demo boats back to the barn just ahead of 3:00pm.
