This lavishly illustrated informational presentation is motivated by a desire to share this wonderful pastime. It will cover:
Where to go and how to get there.
How to plan a fun, successful, and safe trip.
Choosing and packing essential equipment
Recruiting the team and coordination of goals
Canoe camping with kids – so that they want to come again
All based on 40 years of progressing from day trips on the Saco to weeklong trips on the Saint John and the Allagash Wilderness Waterway – and a little bit of Canada.
Jonathan is an active member of the NH AMC Paddlers group and also paddles with Maine’s Penobscot Paddle and Chowder Society (PPCS) and the Rhode Island Canoe and Kayak Association (RICKA). Over the years Jonathan has introduced many of his neighbors, friends, family, and colleagues to canoe camping. A satisfying number have returned for second helping.
